Job Title: Prior Authorization Specialist

We are looking for individuals who have a background and previous experience related to the Medical field. The individual needs to have knowledge about Medical terminologies and an idea of how Medical insurance works in the US.

The job descriptions are as follows but are not limited to;

• Request, track and obtain patients’ prior authorizations with insurance carriers within the time allotted to perform scheduled medical services.
• Establishing patient co-pays and communicating co-pays with physicians’ offices as requested.
• Fielding inbound insurance-related phone calls.
• Communicate any insurance changes or trends among the team.
• Contact Primary care physicians, as needed, regarding referrals.
• Regularly calls insurance companies to follow up.
• Document all communications and contacts with providers and personnel in standardized documentation requirements, including proper format.
• If needed, Input clinical data into the physicians’ office (EMR) electronic medical records system. If not familiar with the EMR system, training for each account and its process will be needed.

• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written proficiency)
• Excellent time management, strong attention to detail, accuracy, impartiality, organization, and computer competences
• At least 1-2 years of experience in a medical-related background
• Intermediate skills with G Suite and/or Microsoft Office
• Familiar with Medical Terminologies
• A healthcare-related degree is highly preferred
• A professional license as a Medical Technologist is preferred
• HIPAA Certification is a plus
